By day I work as a healthcare professional, and I am a husband and a father to two boys. In my spare time, I write and self-publish my tales of horror, mystery and science fiction/fantasy under the pen name of Scott Dyson. I have been writing since grade school but it wasn’t until the mid 1990’s, when I was helping to host a book and writing forum on Delphi Internet Services called “The Book And Candle Pub,” that I got more serious about creating works of fiction.
I chose “indie” self-publishing because frankly I don’t have the time or the patience to deal with the long waits between submission and acceptance or rejection. And when I write, I prefer to write fiction – not query letters.
Besides writing, my passions in life are my family, making music, reading and watching movies, and following Chicago sports, especially the Cubs and the Bulls. (Yes, I admit to being a long-suffering Chicago Cubs fan!) I play keyboards and enough guitar and drums to get by.
Recently I was interviewed by the prolific thriller/science fiction author Steven M. Moore. Here’s a link to that interview: Interviewing Author Scott Dyson. While you’re there, maybe take a look at some of Steve’s offerings!
I wrote a post about 20 possibly interesting things about myself that you can read if you’re bored. (I’d rather you go buy one of my stories and read that!)
I also wrote a blog entry about why I write horror, if you’re interested in that sort of thing.
As long as you’re reading about me, here’s one about why I write at all!
Please feel free to look around the site and check out my titles.
